Murray Capholm Cookie Policy
Which cookies this website uses, what each category is for, and how to control them in your browser.
Last updated: 3 August 2026. This policy explains how murraycapholm.com uses cookies and similar technologies.
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your computer, tablet or phone. They let a site remember things between page loads, keep forms secure, and help the site owner understand which pages people actually read. This policy explains which categories we use and how you can control them.
1. Categories we use
Strictly necessary
These make the website work. They include the security token that protects our registration and contact forms from misuse, and session cookies that keep a page functioning while you use it. They cannot be switched off from within the site, because without them the forms would not submit.
Analytics and performance
These help us understand how the website is used — which pages are read, how long people stay, which links are followed and where visitors arrived from. We use them in aggregate to improve clarity, layout and page speed. We use Google Analytics for this purpose, which sets its own cookies and processes data under Google’s terms.
Attribution
Some links to this website include a source parameter so that we can tell which page or campaign a registration came from. This helps us understand which explanations people find useful. It records the source of the visit, not your identity.
Third-party content
Where a page embeds content hosted elsewhere, such as a video player or a market price widget, that provider may set its own cookies when the content loads. We do not control those cookies. Their use is governed by the provider’s own policy. The language selector in our header is one example: it is provided by Elfsight, loads from elfsightcdn.com and remembers the language you choose.
What we do not do. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles about you, we do not sell cookie data, and we do not use cookies to collect payment or identity information — we do not collect those on this website at all.
2. How to control cookies
The quickest way to change your analytics choice is the Cookie preferences control at the bottom left of any page on this website. You can also manage or delete cookies in your browser settings, usually under Privacy or Site settings. You can also browse in a private or incognito window, or install a browser extension that blocks tracking. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop our forms from working.
Google provides an opt-out for Google Analytics through its own browser add-on. Your device may also offer a system-level setting to limit tracking.
3. Consent
When you first arrive, a cookie notice asks whether you are willing to allow analytics cookies. Strictly necessary cookies and the header language selector are the only things that load before you answer, and analytics is set to off by default for visitors whose device reports a United Kingdom or European Economic Area time zone. You can change your answer at any time using the Cookie preferences control at the bottom left of any page. Choosing to reject analytics also removes any analytics cookies already stored in your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser as well, as described above.
4. Related policies
This policy sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with the information you give us directly, and our Terms and Conditions.
5. Changes and contact
We may update this policy. The version on this page is always the current one. Questions can go to [email protected].
